Fantasy Football Starts/Sits

Welcome to TimersSports

Starts -

Quarterbacks:

Colin Kap - Many predict the Cowboys will be extremely bad on defense. Would I expose this defensive unit each week? Heck yeah. CK7 may not be a Peyton Manning , but the Cowboys can make anyone good. CK7 is an top 5 option heading into Sunday.

Matthew Stafford: Another horrible defense should lead to another quarterback having a very nice week 1. Stafford isn't the most desired starter , but very few individuals have a better match up. I like MS chances. The Giants are questionable on defense. They won't slow down Megatron nor this high power offense. Play Stafford and get your reward.

Tony Romo: What I love most about a crappy Defense is the Quarterback will likely pass a lot. And that's isn't a problem for Romo. The 49ers aren't as good on defense as everyone thinks. Top 10 defense , but it won't stop Romo from passing 35-40 times. Look for a back and forth type game high scoring. Usually its favors the Quarterbacks.

Running Backs -

Arian Foster: The Foster stock value dropped like a rock in the past month. Now watch it rocket after week 1. Foster have an awesome match up vs Washington. Last season , Washington allowed the 4th most points against running backs. I haven't seen enough improvements in the offseason to say that have changed much. Foster is the main man in Houston right now. Start your (somewhat) stud.

Zac Stacy: Folks no Sam Bradford means Hill is under the center. There gonna be some serious handing off to Stacy. And not like my Vikings are known to be stellar against the run. In fact , they were ranked inside the top 10 for most points allowed in that category. Stacy isn't exactly a stud , but he definitely a starter every single week.

Frank Gore: At this point , I am beating a dead horse with the Cowboys Defense. Anyhow , Gore should be nice option this week. He isn't the stud anymore , but he continues to put up solid numbers. The Cowboys D should help him out.

Wide Receivers -

Victor Cruz- Cruz is between No.2/No.3 WR on most teams. His singal caller is a big reason for that. Eli Manning unimpressive preseason having people wondering on Cruz. No fear , Cruz should be a good play week 1. Lions were not good on stopping Wide Receivers in 2013. They allowed close to 27.0 points per game. I will take my chances with Cruz , wouldn't you?

Greg Jenning: An guy that get left out a lot in Minnesota is Jenning. He struggled a lot in 2013. But he was most productive with Matt C under center. CP84 should draw some attention away from him as well. Its helps the Rams gave up 22.0 points per contest in 2013. This isn't a good recommend in 12 Team or less leagues , but could be a nice play in 14 or more owners leagues. Especially if you relatively weak options at your flex or WR 3.

Michael Crabtree: I like Crabtree this week. Plus it against the Cowboys which should lead to great points. Crabtree is the number 1 option within the San Fran offense. The scoreboard will be lit up on Sunday and so will Crabtree.

Tight Ends -

Vernon Davis: I don't think Davis repeat his 1000+ and 13 TDs from 2013. Nor his 2 TDs performance in 2013 opener vs Green Bay. The Good ole boys in Dallas warns a favorable matchup for VDavis. He have top 5 potential for week 1. Cowboys ranked inside top 5 in 2013 against Tight Ends.

Jordan Cameron: Cameron have great potential , and week 1 looks pretty good. The loss of Gordon will let Cameron to take the unquestionably lead role in the Cleveland offense.  How well he does will depend on the level of quarterback play.

Sits -

Quarterbacks:

Cam Newton: Newton is dealing with an injury and an below average group of WRs. Newton also haven't been a quicker starter. He tend to hit his stride after week 8. Its also doesn't help , Newton is playing Tampa Bay this week 1. He was drafted as your starter , but he isn't a stud though. In 10 league teams , I could see benching him. 12 or more may be bit of stench with the limited options. Should be noted , Newton missed Wednesday practice.

Philip Rivers: Arizona was a consistent QB killer. Allowing around 16 points per game. That's ranks number 1. Rivers was drafted later in most drafts (with his ADP as of late). So finding a replacement for him couldn't be too hard.

Eli Manning: Eli was less then stout in preseason. Okay you caught me. He was really horrible. The Lions defense isn't nothing to love , but the Lions Defense may score more points then Eli. Do I need to say more?

Running Backs -

Ryan Mathews: Mathews in my opinion was drafted too high in most drafts. Week 1 will likely be a bit rocky. Mathews matchup against Arizona is anything but favorable. Sure you can him start , but I don't know if you will like the outcome ultimately though.

MJD: I don't like MJD or any other back going against the Jets on the Raider roster. In fact , I am not a fan any players on Oakland this season. MJD haven't struggled in September in recent season. Add in Jets stout Defense against the run. We see red flags all over the place.

Wide Receivers -

Mike Wallace: I am not real high on Mike. The average QB play in Miami and solid unfavorable matchup against New England makes him a  questionable play. New England won't shut down Wallace , but I would prefer to play the wait and see approach.

Torrey Smith: Smith put up awesome numbers in 2013. But Cincy is always a tough matchup for No.2 WRs and beyond. Smith is widely considered an 3rd WR. I don't hate using him , but I don't love him either unfortunately.

Tight Ends -

Coby Fleener: Meh..not liking Coby that much as I did last season. Coby will likely be nothing more then a fill in for most owners. There too many options in Indy for him to be even relevant as a starter. Least in a 10 team league. For now just keep a eye on him.

Jared Cook: Cook was pretty inconsistent in St Louis in 2013. The loss of Bradford makes matters worse for him. Cook should be considered a backup TE for most squads. Despite a favorable matchup , Cook remains untrustworthy option until further notice. There are better choices at the moment.
